A total of around 1,100 EP-I ultrasound sensors have been installed at the LaLa Garden Tsukuba Shopping Center’s outdoor parking lot and multilevel parking tower, along with large information boards and route markers, floor availability signs, and a computerized analysis system.
Despite a high-capacity parking tower having been erected behind the shopping center, many drivers would circle the level parking lot in search of a parking space even when it was congested. The provision of sensor information, however, simultaneously eliminated congestion of the level parking lot and helped direct drivers to the parking tower at the rear.
Guidance systems are designed using computer graphics to confirm the visibility of displays, harmonization with buildings, and so on.
Based on the results of the computer graphic analysis, large information boards are then erected.
This system makes it possible to reproduce and analyze past parking patterns in calendar format. Parking times and turnover, etc. are color coded, and trends in use by time slot can be outputted to Excel for further analysis and data processing.
